After traveling for several years throughout Europe as a travel agent and creating wine tour programs for escorted tours in Europe, I left the travel industry to focus on the wines of Oregon. Living in the heart of Oregon’s famed Willamette Valley inspired me to open a wine shop and wine bar that focused solely on Oregon wine.  Wine enthusiasts were able to experience wine from Oregon’s best known wineries to wineries that were truly Oregon’s best kept secrets.  After being open for just nine months, my wine shop and wine bar, named Julia’s, was voted one of the top five wine bars in Lane County, Oregon.

In March of 2010, I was offered an opportunity to write for the South Willamette Wineries Association, and I soon discovered my passion for writing about wine.  I sold Julia’s Wine Shop and Wine Bar in April of 2010, and soon after, I was hired as the Food and Wine Editor at Eugene Daily News, where I write two long-standing columns: Wine Down Eugene and Local Lunch Gals. With the help of Eugene Daily News, WineJulia.com was created in February of 2012.  Just 6 months later, WineJulia.com received the prestigious award Best New Wine Blog  from the Wine Blog Awards during the 2012 Wine Bloggers Conference held in Portland, Oregon. Winning this award is an incredible honor.

I’m also honored to be a part of the incredible Snooth.com community as a Snooth Mentor who represents the Willamette Valley and Southern Oregon; as well as, a regular contributor beginning in the summer of 2013.

Winning the Best New Wine Blog of 2012 has brought on many great travel and writing opportunities, and for the first time, I’ll be attending the distinguished International Pinot Noir Celebration this summer – as a true Pinot Noir fanatic, this is very exciting.

I live in beautiful Eugene, Oregon, with my husband and two young boys, and I love being surrounded by the green rolling hills filled with the world renowned vineyards and wineries of the Willamette Valley.

Wine is my passion. While I savor every sip of every wine, I revel in sharing my experiences with others.
